About Bike Index imageAbout Bike Index image
New Bike Sales are now registered on Bike Index for free!

ABOUT BIKE INDEX
Cofounded by Seth Herr and Bryan Hance in 2013, Bike Index is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
It is the most widely used and successful bicycle registration service in the world with over 315,000 cataloged bikes, 910 community partners and tens of thousands of daily searches.
Seth built Bike Index when he was a bike mechanic because he wanted to be able to register bikes for his customers. Bryan developed and ran a community driven bicycle recovery service (StolenBikeRegistry.com) that recovered bikes from the first week it was created in 2004.
Merging the two services Seth and Bryan created the universal bike registration service they both dreamed of — a database used and searched by individuals, bike shops, police departments and other apps. A bike registry that gives everyone the ability to register and recover bicycles.
Simple. Efficient. Effective.
Bike registration that works.

Rotary Road Rally Fun for Families, Beneficial for Schools The Rotary Road Rally is an annual bicycling event to benefit the Norman Public Schools, and it will be held Saturday, Oct. 20 at Reeves Park, 2501 Jenkins Ave. The ride begins at 9 a.m. and the registration desk opens at 7 a.m. For children and families, there will be a 10-mile town tour through Norman’s beautiful campus district and downtown area. For people with a more serious cycling habit, the Road Rally offers 34-mile and 54-mile tours through the rolling hills of southern Cleveland County, just as fall colors take over the rural landscape. A Norman bicycle patrol officer will escort the town tour through several historic neighborhoods, along Main Street in downtown and across the University of Oklahoma campus. Other officers will assist with traffic control for the longer rides, which will venture as far south as Flat Armadillo Road near Lexington. SAG wagon support and rest stops will be provided along the way. After the ride, there will be music in the park, and food trucks from Gaberino’s, Midway Deli and That Pie Place serving complimentary lunch to riders. Proceeds from the event support the Norman Rotary Club’s Success Cycle program, which is held in partnership with the Norman Public Schools to encourage long-term academic success among elementary school students. Norman Public School Superintendent Nick Migliorino called the Norman Rotary Club an incredible partner for the district. "The Success Cycle program has contributed to higher attendance in several schools, which leads to improved performance in the classroom. We appreciate everyone who supports the ongoing success of the program." The preregistration cost is $35 for adults and $15 for children, which pays for the ride, a t-shirt, lunch and a $20 gift card from Schlegel’s Bicycles in Oklahoma City. Registration on the day of the event is $40 for adults. For maps and preregistration, go to www.normanrotary.org.

The Lawton Fort Sill Community presents the Spring Open Streets on Saturday May 25, 2019 from 10am-2pm. This event is brought to you by a multitude of community organizations. Open streets is a newer concept that turns city streets into a temporary public park with activities for the whole family to get people moving. Open streets events are increasingly common in cities seeking innovative ways to achieve environmental, social, economic, and public health goals by temporarily closing streets to automobile traffic, so that people may use them for walking, fitness classes, bicycling, dancing, playing, and socializing. Here are some valuable things that Open Streets brings to the community: • Open Streets creates sense of community • Open Streets promotes active lifestyle • Open Streets promotes active transportation • Open Streets aides in efforts for revitalization and economic development
